Welcome to Tököl Airport!

Tököl Airport has a history that goes back more than eight decades – here, aviation heritage and modern operations meet right on the runway. The airport was founded in 1942 as part of the Dunai Aircraft Factory under the name Horthy-liget. After World War II, it was taken over by the Hungarian People’s Army, and by 1950 the first concrete runway had been completed. Over the decades, the airport has served military, governmental, and industrial purposes, and during the Cold War it operated under Soviet control.

In 1991, the airport returned to Hungarian management, and in 2002 a new chapter began: Master Sky Kft. took over the operation of Tököl Airport, a role we have proudly held ever since. From securing the first operating permits to building the on-site fuel station and continuously developing the infrastructure, we have been involved in every major milestone along the way.

Today, Tököl Airport is a special-purpose civil airport with ICAO 3C classification, featuring a 1,560-meter runway. We handle an average of 30,000 aircraft movements per year, have welcomed more than 1,700 different registered aircraft, and currently provide storage for approximately 110 aircraft. Since 2017, we have held authorization for temporary border opening, averaging around 90 operations per year, and we proudly serve as a base airport for aerial displays over Budapest.

What truly sets Tököl Airport apart is not only the volume of traffic, but the aircraft themselves. We are especially proud that some truly iconic machines have taken off from and landed at Tököl Airport on multiple occasions, including the Lockheed Constellation, HondaJet, Douglas DC-6, B-25 Mitchell, Alfa Jet, Vought F4U Corsair, and the Bell AH-1 Cobra helicopter. These aircraft are not just visitors — they are part of the living aviation history that continues to fly through Tököl Airport.

If you’re looking for an airport where experience, respect for aviation heritage, and modern, flexible operations go hand in hand — you’ll feel right at home at Tököl Airport.
